If you'd like to see how your site fairs with it's present rankings, a few tools accessible to all will be outlined here.
Twingine
Twingine is a tool that allows you to search Google and Yahoo! at the same time. The results are displayed side by side and can be used to compare the results from a search. Type in a key phrase below or use the one provided and see how it ranks on both engines. The one provided is for a client of ours. Can you guess who? I'll give you a hint. They rank #1 on both Google and Yahoo.
Link Test
To see many of the pages that have links to your website, type in your domain into Google using the format link:domain.com Google has recently changed their algorithm and may not return any results. We have ways of testing multiple search engines to ensure we find every site that links to you. Do NOT engage in link exchanges. These can cause your site to be considered spam and as a result ignored by search engines. Refer to the articles section. You can also try altavista.com: and type in your domain using the following format. linkdomain:domain.com -domain:domain.com

Submissions
If you find a tool to submit your website to search engines, take my advice and don't use it. If you site has not been optimized, you can do more damage than good by submitting a site that is either missing some crucial information, or even worse is over-optimized. We provide a submission service, but we only use it when the page being submitted had been analyzed and optimized.
DMOZ
The Open Directory Project is a large public directory maintained by a group of volunteer editors from around the world who evaluate sites for inclusion in the directory. Anyone can submit to the directory. Make sure to follow the guidelines. Be impartial in your descriptions.
